The Jury

Andrew Eldritch
Born on an airforce base, he has spent his whole life moving from one town to the next, although he returns regularly to Leeds and Hamburg. He is a thin, quiet gentleman, but he does very loud things when he gets paid for them, for example with his rock band "The Sisters Of Mercy".
He spends his spare time with books and computers, and his favourite films are the science-fiction puppet series made by Gerry Anderson for British television in the Sixties. He is still hoping that Peter Greenaway will ring him up and ask him to have sex with Isabelle Adjani.

Delphine Fleury
Better known as Madame Delphine, this jury member is 31 years old and studied film and philosophy in Paris at University VIII. Since graduating, she has been a board member of the "Association Sceni Qua Non", which organises a whole host of cinematic events including the short film festival in Nevers a l’Aube and the "L’Avis de Chateau" festival in Chateau-Chinon, as well as a number of projects for schools and venues. When she isn’t enjoying films, Madame Delphine indulges her soft spots for wine and cats.

Silvia Hallensleben
Born in Wuppertal in 1965, she trained as a photographer before studying almost every aspect of the non-existent discipline of cultural sciences. She then successfully studied German and immediately began working her way up the career ladder in an office. Alas, it was not to be. The call of the independent life was too great, so she bid her colleagues "adieu" and set forth – and has carved her own niche in the fields of film criticism, including for the Berliner Tagesspiegel and epd-Film.

Klaus Hammerlindl
Born in the same year as super-8 film first came on the scene, 1965. Studied film, literature and philosophy, finished them all. Produces his super-8 films and videos with friends and enjoys showing them at parties where he gets free beer for his trouble. Even more enjoys watching films of the other folk. Involved with KOMM-KINO Nuremberg for a long time with the occasional foray into the world of film festivals. In Berlin since 1999, developing a reputation as a lo-fi film-maker, author and social tippler.
P.S. He learned everything he knows from the book "Learn To Think In 15 Days". Anyone desperate enough to be interested should ask him if he could possibly photocopy bits and projects for them.

Overdramatised Non-Event in the High-Class-Container

»Are those squares supposed to sweep themselves?« the nasty boss asked his square-sweeper. Since that evening - to be exact, an evening in February, 7.27 p.w. - the seven members OV the NoBudget Sensitization Group met regularly in front OV a television with concealed jokes and made remarks. Someone wrote down what there was to be written down. What follows is a couple OV these items and should help set the tone for a programme which is truly worth remarking upon.

In »Excavation« (NoBudget 4), the film is shorter and is called »Where Women Are Banned«, the director is a woman who lives in GB and is called Kobylinska, and the confirmation for the festival that it is not a political forum emerges from the ranks OV the International Elsewhere - fake holy war is everywhere. What or rather in what Italians believe - especially those who make films aboST Africans travelling in space, despite being dead, although who, during their lifetime, challenged the Europeans to re-organise Africa anew - I don't know, bST anyone who wants to think aboST it will no doubt jump at the opportunity. Still, beneath the »Rational RoOV« (NoBudget 2), there is »RevolSTion and COVfee« and Australians who make peculiar demonic films in Senegal in the form OV »Insect« - which apparently portray science-fiction hybrids. This is why we gladly join the »Two Storks« reality (NoBudget 3) where we re-invent the world, we have the power: »And Man Created God« announces the first guest straight away and later we meet a Swiss woman for whom, the only reason she has not been trapped in a »Bosnian Cage« is that the required step had already been made a generation earlier. The »Magic Fairy Juice« (NoBudget 6) gets drunk in the place where Czechs living in the United States use video technology to communicate with wonderful mothers - grandmothers in the meantime - who have stayed behind and the heads OV Finnish construction companies who sweeten their employees' midday breaks by taking unusual steps. And we see, oSTside the space-time continuum, the »Electro-magnetic Rainbow« (NoBudget 5) bridge the distance to Haiti where Mr. Kodak tries to get an idea OV this emaciated, invisible world which suits Austria. In the accelerated sampling OV life's surface, between data explosions, high speed entertainment and blocks OV information, lives from the world OV the senses occasionally get lost in the electronic temporary storage zones. In »Introductory Guide To The Heroic Myth« (NoBudget 1), a child's game with extra-terrestrial seeds can help against identity crises and nuclear threats and has the capacity to imbue immortality.

P.S. »The Red Zora« has something to say on the topic OV genetic technology, bST it is running on the short film market rather than as part OV the No Budget programme.
