Accreditation
Only guests with an occupational interest in visiting the Short Film Festival may obtain an accreditation. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need more information on the application requirements.
The accreditation form can only be obtained at the ShortFilmFestival’s office (link oder Adresse: guest@shortfilm.com). A maximum of two persons per institution / company can be accredited. Each person must submit his / her own form. The form must include the institution’s / company’s stamp and the applicants signature.
The accreditation fee of 20 Euros must be paid in cash on collection of the visitor’s festival badge and information material. It grants admission to all events taking place at the festival cinemas and includes a copy of the festival catalogue.
Accreditation deadline is 20 May 2005.
Application forms coming in after this deadline will only be accepted in exceptional cases, at a higher charge of 25 Euros/€.
Festival badges and information material can be picked up at the info counter between 8 and 13 June 2005 from 12 – 20 h.
Getting to the Festival
By plane
You can fly to Hamburg from almost anywhere in the world. There are various bus lines (172, 26, 292, 39, 114, 23, 34) connecting the airport with the city centre. An express bus connects the airport with the central train station (Hauptbahnhof). From there, you can catch the S-Bahn (S3, S31) to Bahnhof Altona. More information at: http://www.airport.de
The airport Hamburg / Lübeck is situated about 100 km east of Hamburg. Ryan Air http://www.ryanair.com ), a low cost airline runs a connection to the destinations Glasgow Prestwick, Milan Bergamo, London Stansted, Shannon, Stockholm and Pisa. From the airport Hamburg / Lübeck there is a Ryan Air Bus Shuttle which brings you to the central bus station (ZOB) in Hamburg. From there, you can catch the S-Bahn to Altona station. Single tickets are 8 Euros, the journey takes about 1,5 hours.

By train
Bahnhof Altona (Altona train station) is very close to the Festival Centre and we recommend booking a connection to Altona if possible. If you arrive at Hauptbahnhof (central train station), you can take the S-Bahn (S1, S3, S31) to Altona.

By car
Coming from the north and west (A7 Flensburg / Kiel – Hamburg):
Exit Hamburg-Bahrenfeld (28): turn left and follow the main road to the city centre for 100 metres (Osdorfer Straße or Von-Sauer-Straße). After 100 metres turn right into Pfitznerstraße (this street will eventually turn into Friedensallee).
Coming from the south (A1 Bremen – Hamburg):
Coming from the motorway A1 change onto A261, direction Hamburg. Change onto A7, direction Hamburg / Kiel, go through the Elbe tunnel and take the first exit, Hamburg-Othmarschen (29). Turn right towards the city centre into Behringstraße and right again into Friedensallee.
Coming from the east (A1 Lübeck – Hamburg):
At the motorway junction East (31), take motorway A24 towards Hamburg-Horn / Zentrum and follow it until it ends. At the roundabout »Horner Kreisel« turn right towards the city centre (Sievekingsallee, that leads to Bürgerweide). Turn right at »Berliner Tor« into Spaldingstraße and follow the street through the »Deichtortunnel« (direction Altona) onto Ost-West-Straße (leading to Ludwig-Erhard-Straße). Keep left at »Millerntor« and turn into »Reeperbahn« (which eventually becomes Königstraße and Holländische Reihe). Turn right at the junction of Holländische Reihe and Große Brunnenstraße. Turn right at the junction of Große Brunnenstraße and Behringstraße, and right again into Friedensallee.
There is a parking lot in Behringstraße behind the Zeise cinema with space for 250 cars, but please be aware that parking tickets are obligatory!
Getting around in Hamburg
The Festival Centre with the Zeise Cinemas, the info counter and the film market can be reached from Bahnhof Altona by taking exit Ottenser Hauptstraße. Follow Ottenser Hauptstraße and turn right into Bahrenfelder Straße, keep straight on Friedensallee. This takes 5 minutes.
A limited number of day passes for Hamburg’s public transport system (HVV) are available at the info counter at a discounted price of 2,50 euro. They can only be purchased one day in advance (especially recommended if you plan to attend one of our trips) and are valid for busses, U and S trains as well as the steam boats on the river Elbe.

As the festival takes place in so many locations it is always a problem to get from one place to the other and in summer it is really boring to sit in the underground all the time... Therefore this year we transfer the International ShortFilmFestival into the International BicycleFestival:
At the Infocounter we have five bikes for rent. If you like you can rent them- also for the whole festival period- for only 3 EURO a day.
Also a riksha shuttle is waiting in front of the Zeise Cinema for those who don't want to pedal themselves.

Park Fiction
... desires will leave the house and take to the streets
Talk with artists Margit Czenki and Christoph Schäfer about the legendary park at St.Pauli's harbour wall. It was planned by interventionist residents, whose actions have stopped a million heavy building on the prestigious site. Guided tour through Park Fiction ending in Butt Club (named after the fish, not the body part). Screening of the Filmcollage, (known from Documenta11), that tells in glamorous images about the production of desires and the moment when art and politics made each other more clever. SATURDAY, 11. JUNE
Tour of Michel tower, the Speicherstadt and Port City
The tower of St. Mic hael's church is a symbol of Hamburg and has been given the nickname "Michel". We will climb the tower in order to get a different perspective on Hamburg. Afterwards, we will take a guided tour of the Speicherstadt, a 19th-century warehouse complex. Here, most of Germany's overseas trade companies, especially those in the coffee, tea and oriental rugs business, were and are based. The local museum there holds exhibits on 110 years of port and trade history. Nowadays, the complex is also home to a number of new media companies and holds several of Hamburg's most popular tourist attractions. Right next to the Speicherstadt is the site of Hamburg's largest consturction project at the moment, the Port City, a residential and office complex at the waterfront.

Art vs. Commerce
Our Festival offers you football on and off the big screen. Under the scorching Altona sun, our Festival team will face a team made up of our artistic guests. A game of two halves, in which our relentless determination might or might not triumph over our guests' artistic footballing finesse.
Meeting Point: Football pitch at Max-Brauer-Schule on Thomasstraße. Kick-off is at 2 p.m.
Frau Hedis TanzKaffee
A boat cruise through Hamburg’s port on the MS Hedi, the floating Club. Complete with commentary from the captain and Soul Music from 5 decades served up by DJ Jens Schulz from Hamburg's sensational Spellbound Soul Club.

MONDAY, 13. JUNE
Guided Tour of St. Pauli
Most people visiting famous St. Pauli only think about the well-known places of entertainment and amusement on the Reeperbahn and Große Freiheit. Our guided tour will reveal to you that there is much more to Hamburg's most (in)famous neighbourhood. St. Pauli with its 26,000 inhabitants is also the poorest part of the city, but rich in different culltures and ways of life. In keeping with the topic of the this year's "Three Minute Quickie" competition, we will also have a look at the FC St. Pauli stadium.
