Open daily from 10 p.m.

Two things, apart from the obvious common good sense and integral grace of the fringe event itself, set it apart from the mundane: amusement and the dilemma of entertainment – the long nights between various screenings and the multitude of people between short films. Even the most robust material quickly deteriorates when deprived of necessary sustenance. It is a regretfully frequent modern-day occurence that commendable events are presented before the public gaze before having been allowed to fully mature. Therefore, we often watch otherwise extraordinary events crash and burn before they have even taken to the air as a result of this form of what amounts to abuse. The industrialisation of our film and concert agencies and their absorption of consumerist principles are of course not without blame. However, it does not have to be like this – as will be seen and heard in the Festival Club over the festival period. So let’s get on with it then.
