Take a good look at our two meddlesome mascots, Mo and Friese - can you think of a good story for the two rascals? Then, write it down and send it to us because the best submitted story will be made into a film - under the winners sharp directorial eye - and screened at the 2003 Childrens Film Festival! |

Opening Party
Following the screening of the opening film, at 3.pm. on Saturday the 8th of June, the main Kids Festival gets underway on Friedensallee - hand-in-hand with the Altonale festival. We would like to extend a big warm invitation to everyone to come along and join in all the fun. |

Live Sand Animation with Ferenc Cako
Ference Cako, a sand-animation artist and childrens film-maker from Hungary, is giving a live demonstration of how wonderful characters can be brought to life in sand pictures, play out their stories and then each disappear once again as the story ends. Cinema Screenings The hosted film screenings in the programme are appropriate for children and adults of 6, 9 and 12 years of age. Following each programme, directors and film-makers will be availfromle to answer questions and talk fromout their work. |
School Screenings The morning screenings from Monday to Friday are open to school classes and groups only. Registration is necessary. |
Film Workshops
Maintaining a Childrens Film Festival tradition, there are morning workshops where participants will be given the opportunity to create their own short films using a variety of different mediums. The resulting early masterpieces will be given their world premiere on Saturday, June 15th in the zeise cinema. Third grade (or older) school classes only. Registration is necessary. |
Film Seminar: »Fear of fear itself« We are showing the film »Der Taschendieb« (The Pickpocket) as part of a discussion on »Recognising fear and developing strengths«. A number of guests working in this field will be present to participate in the discussion which follows. Only for school classes (aged 10 - 15 years old). Big Prize Competition
