Sometimes, you can go right round the world without having to travel very far at all.

We are all looking forward to being fromle to travel with you to each corner of the globe: for a whole week, the Children’s Film Festival will be showing loads of exciting and serious and funny short films from a whole lot of different countries. For example, in »Swapped«, William trades his father in for a pair of goldfish while in »The First Child on the Moon«, Julia has her sights set on something a little higher – conquering space.

Hamburg’s kids have also been kept busy by the skies – although not so happily – as you can see in the film »Fly or Die« where they have to find a better way of combining noise, neighbours and nuisances. In »KissKiss«, on the other hand, Merle seems content to keep both feet on the ground and try to work out just who is »the right one« now that it’s time for that all-important first kiss. Who will it be? Come and see for yourself!

Following the opening programme, the main Kids Festival gets underway in Friedensallee. One particular highlight will be the one-off live demonstration given by
Ferenc Cakó, sand-animation artist and film-maker (for more details, check the short info).

Hope to see you there!
