Moving Target

Exhibition | Wednesday, 4. June, to Saturday, 7. June | Foyer Metropolis

A sculpture made of single images, light and movement. An abstraction merges yesterday with today and new beginnings with decay. In media artist Richard Frenken’s cinematographic collage, 19th century mechanics encounter contemporary visual expectations. A rotating steel cylinder will turn contemporary and historical photos into a visual frenzy in which the human eye can’t focus on individual images. The target is movable, everything flows. Cinema is recycled and learns to reinvent itself in this way.
