A Wall is a Screen: Hamburg

Back in 2003 when the technical directors of the Short Film Festival were the first ones who decided to bring short films to the streets and city walls, it was labeled ›the technician's open air‹. Now, 15 A Wall is a Screen tours at the festival and 250 short film tours in more than 30 countries later, A Wall is a Screen has become a mainstay of the international shortfilm scene.

For the 15th anniversary A Wall is a Screen starts very close to the centre of the founding-festival, at the Euler-Hermes building next door to the Festivalzentrum Kolbenhof. As well as the Kolbenhof area, this iconic building will be torn down within the next years, following the example of many of the walls A Wall is a Screen has used in Hamburg and all over the world to screen films onto. So, most probably this will be the last chance to illuminate these walls with filmic destruction pears. On this year's festival friday we will be quicker than the developers!

Friday June 9th, Start 22:30 h, Friedensallee 254.
